For me, my participation in the "Grebe" thread was more about my frustration and not being able to get out of the house to bird and boredom. I enjoyed the sarcasm, quips and the occasional diversion from the grebe subject only to be entertained by the Lesser Antillean Flycatcher stories and the reference to Audubon s identification methods.
It has been my opinion from the beginning that the bird was definitely a grebe and didn't quite understand all the debate.
Overwhelmingly, the experts, Mark, Brian, Brian, John, Vince, Rock and others who chimed in via email all agreed it was a grebe. I never doubted the experts.
Now that I have seen the grebe, I am quite satisfied. I even got a couple of OK photos for future reference.
