I was having difficulty pulling up the pictures, so I haven't chimed in. My comment is and now when I finally see it mentioned, is when I observed an Eared Grebe in a south Dade lake years ago, it was the behavior of extended neck that made it stand out for me. Upon trying to make every Pied-billed I saw into this rare bird, when I finally saw it on the other part of the lake it was distinctly different by having a very long extended neck. It was being harassed by a Bonaparte's Gull popping under for a long period of time and then up again with an extended neck. It has been fun reading all the scuttle butt.
