Unfortunately, since I'm a newbie. I didn't know who Brian Hope is. I was politely made aware that several excellent birders have either seen the bird or the photos; and then called it an Eared Grebe.
One of these days I hope to meet Brian Hope and apologize... I understand he is a fine birder!
This reminds me of the time I responded to a post by Sandy Komito and I offered advice on locating traillii and Acadian's at Lucky Hammock. Shoot!
