There was a first-winter Franklin's Gull along with the 500+ Laughing and Ring-billed present at Cutler Wetlands today around noon. The gulls were all on the flats in front of the northern edge. Cutler Wetlands is located in Cutler Ridge in southern Miami-Dade. Take the Turnpike to SW 216th street and go east. Turn right on Old Cutler Road and left onto 224 St. The
wetlands will be on your right on 224 St. after passing the apartment complex. You can park next to the fenced water control structure on 224 St.

Sparrows were less abundant this morning at Lucky Hammock, but I did manage good looks at a Lincoln's, along with Swamp, Grasshopper, and Savannah.
