A visit to Easterlin Park this morning produced my FOTS Orange-crowned Warblers, American Robins, and Chipping Sparrow. The chippy was on the southern edge of the park. An immature Broad-winged Hawk was seen and heard in the Cypress Trees at the north end of the park and an adult with two more immatures were seen soaring over the park.
A FOTS Swainson s Hawk soaring south over WCA 2-B was the most interesting bird seen during a midday visit Markham Park. About a dozen Purple Swamphens were active in the Spikerush in the WCA and two Snail Kites could be seen hunting several hundred yards west of the levee.
