I have read Georgiana's hummingbird posts excitedly (and somewhat enviously) for a while, so I hope it's okay that I'm sharing my excitement here. Today I saw my first hummingbird EVER in my back yard. We planted a little hummingbird garden in the fall, and I got a feeder last week, and whadaya know? Just like in the movie, "build it and they will come." We almost missed her (a female rubythroat) because of two pileated woodpeckers we were watching at the time, but when they flew away we caught her hovering around long enough to get a nice look before she dashed. Hooray!
