Okay...so about two weeks ago I set out to find my lifer Canada Warbler...which I was so graced with in the East Beach Woods of Fort Desoto. Then, a few days later, Michelle Davis spotted one at the Lucky Hammock Annex...wow, neat, TWO Canadas this fall! Then we headed down to Key West this weekend, and oh, what's that? A CANADA WARBLER at the Harris School!?? WOW! THREE CANADA WARBLERS THIS FALL! So yesterday, to rub it in a bit, who shows up at Lucky Hammock Proper, but, yup, you guessed it- CANADA WARBLER. Now this morning, I wasn't planning to birdwatch (really Jeff, I wasn't!) but there was a ruckus of birds just beyond my backyard...so I had to poke around. A couple of Sandhill Cranes, several Baltimore Orioles, a smattering of Am. Redstarts, Yellow-throated, Black-throated Blue, Black and White, and...oh yeah, (start singing to the tune of the 12 days of Christmas...the part about the partridge) and a CANADA WARBLER in a pine treeeeeeee. That's five in just over two weeks, with three of them in the past three days. I'd be inclined to speculate that Canada Warbler migration got pushed right over south Florida this fall...anyone else sharing this experience with me???????

I'm done ranting.

good birding

David
