A FOS Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was seen this morning in Bill Baggs Cape Florida SP. It was east of the dirt pond trail, about half way between the "mound" and the restroom intersect. Early, 300+ Yellow-rumped Warblers motored from east to west, disappeared, then returned later to mill around the park. Tree Swallows (~400) were flying south with a purpose.

The best show was at 10 AM when 2 large kettles of birds thermal-hopped and criss-crossed the park for 40 minutes. Mixed in with ~170 Turkey Vultures were a few Black Vultures, Osprey, Anhinga (2), Red-shouldered Hawk, Broad-winged Hawk (5), Cooper's Hawk (4), Sharp-shinned Hawk (3), Northern Harrier (2) and best bird: DARK MORPH Red-tailed Hawk, which flew low and gave great looks.

On Crandon Beach, the same shorebirds/gulls were present that Brian reported but in addition, 4 tern species were represented. Just offshore, 17 frigatebirds were circling jumping baitfish.
