This morning in Bill Baggs Cape Florida SP there were 2 White-crowned Sparrows off the dirt pond trail. These sparrows are unusual in the park but seem to show up annually in late fall or early winter. They never seem to stay throughout the winter, though.

I easily picked up 12 warblers species, best being: Blackpoll, Tennessee, Cape May and Nashville. A fruiting ficus is on the paved bike path ~125 yards north of the restrooms. Six warbler species were sharing this tree with a White-crowned Pigeon. A Baltimore Oriole and Painted Buntings were also seen.

Yesterday while on a scouting trip to Shark Valley/Loop Road area with Darlene Smyth (ABA Field Trip Coordinator), we had 2 Snail Kites, 1 dark morph Short-tailed Hawk, Magnolia and Orange-crowned Warblers and a Tufted Titmouse.
