This morning while birding with Bruce Purdy we spotted a female-type (maybe 1st winter male) Yellow-headed Blackbird at the horse stable just south of Schnebly Winery on SW 217th Ave west of Homestead. It was feeding on the lawn with a large flock of Brown-headed Cowbirds and a couple of Shiny Cowbirds. There were also a few Red-winged Blackbirds and grackles on the property. This is the same location that Brennan Mulrooney reported the same species on March 3, 2006. Life is good................when you see a western species and the Dolphins knock of da undefeated Bears in the same day!
