Painted buntings by the score at West Palm Beach Okeeheelee nature center. Saw 9 female and three males at one time at Okeeheelee's famous feeder. Also an indigo that was very reticent to show himself. Rew winged blackbirds were about in very large numbers and butterflies beyond count. No crowds...in fact no people at all until 10:00 AM. The buntings came and went in 10-15 minute intervals. What delightful little creatures!
For those that haven't been there, we are talking sitting about 10 feet from these birds that show very little fear probably because the saw palmettos give them good cover coming and going.
