While birding Lucky Hammock with Palm Beach County birders, Carl Edwards and Mark, on Sunday, October 29th, a Brown-crested Flycatcher was located in the area directly east of the hammock. The bill was all black, the pale breast and throat were well seen and the "whip" call was heard.

A female Blue Grosbeak, Painted and Indigo Buntings, a pair of Clay-colored Sparrows, Yellow-Breasted Chat, Least Flycatcher,Yellow-bellied Sapsucker (FOS), Sandhill Cranes, Broad-winged and a dark Short-tailed Hawk were also seen.

Research Road was quiet, but Pine Warblers, American Redstart,Magnolia Warbler and Brown Thrasher were present.

Long Pine Key Campground was alive with a large mixed flock of Pine Warblers, Eastern Bluebirds and at least two Brown-headed Nuthatches.

At least two males and two females Shiny Cowbirds were mixed in with Brown Cowbirds and Red-winged Blackbirds in the grape orchard at the winery on S.W. 217th Ave. Just north of the winery, a Burrowing Owl with one yellow and one brown eye was seen at Homestead Airport.

A quick stop at the residential area across from Baptist Hospital produced four Red-whiskered Bulbuls and a pair of Hill Mynas.

All-in-all a good day of birding. Life is good.............with Bass Pale Ale and Yuengling quaffed as a celebratory libation.
