Lucky Hammock and the Annex was jumping with birds this morning as well as the Coe Visitor Center at the entrance to Everglades National Park. I had large numbers of just about every species seen including 7-Yellow-breasted Chats!! Out of the seven chats, I actually saw three which is pretty darn good, I heard the other four. Catbirds were every where, all of the birds were flying about and were very active.
Warblers seen:
Northern Parula
Black-and-white Warbler
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Blackburnian Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler
Yellow-throated Warbler
Prairie Warbler
Palm Warbler
Ovenbird
Northern Waterthrush
Common Yellowthroat
Yellow-breasted Chat
American Redstart
I had a Clay-colored Sparrow and a Savannah, I did not see any other sparrows but I did not really look hard. The Firebush near the Coe Visitor Center bathrooms were full of Black-throated Blue Warblers, Northern Parula, Common Yellowthroat, American Redstart, Catbirds and a couple of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. I would say that this was a mini-fallout with lots of birds.
