Rock just called to say that at 6:00 pm he saw the Philadelphia Vireo feeding high in the same fig tree just east of the nature center. This is the exact spot where I saw it two days in a row. He noted the slow feeding behavior as compared with a warbler. It spends quite a long time feeding in the same clump of leaves.
Rock was hoping to get the Bell's as well, but it didn't show. With school out today, all the kids running around the edge of the hammock may have spooked it deeper in the brush.
