I took I75 all the way till you come to the Sunshine Sky Way. I think it is I275 to St. Pete.
I missed the turn because it was 4:00 in the morning and foggy. I ended up in Tampa and had to back track.
It is an overnight trip, unless you want to drive 4 1/2 hours to bird for just an evening. I drove all night and was far to tired to have driven back home.

I stayed at a little motel on HWY91 (34th St.) near the ramp to I275. I don't remember the name, but I was able to park next to the door to my room and I moved all my valubles into the room even though the area seemed safe. It was a family freindly motel with a pool.
