A real lucky hip shot. The picture was taken in the company of Paul and Christine Gore at their parent's house in Sea Ranch. The bird spent the day squeezed into a narrow cavity of a queen palm and came out religiously at sunset. Paul had watched that for a month or so and told me about the opportunity. I went, the sun set, the owl came out, the flash didn't work, the owl flew to a frangi panji, I shot again, the flash worked, the rest is history, and as Paul Bithorn would say, : "Life is good"
