A very worn Scarlet Tanager was seen feeding on Virginia Creeper in my yard last night. My oaks, that have been so productive in the past, were beaten to a pulp last year by Wilma, so I'm glad to actually see something noteworthy finally.
Also Turkey Vultures are back in force, as are Palm Warblers.
Broad-winged and Cooper's Hawk are seen almost daily, and a Red-tailed Hawk was seen Monday. Red-eyed Vireos and American Redstarts are also seen quite often. Last night while listening for a Swainson's Thrush, I heard a posible Gray-cheeked, but it's call was muffled by passing car.
I have to take the SAT tomorrow, but hopefully Sunday I can get out...
