STA-5 is not normally open to birders but due to efforts of the recently formed Hendry-Glades Audubon Society, in cooperation with the South Florida Water Management District, birders can bird at STA5 once a month June-October and twice a month the rest of the year. Our next tour will be Saturday October 14th. . We will meet at the main gate at STA-5 at 8:30AM or you can carpool with Margaret England from the LaBelle McDonald's at 7:00AM or the Clewiston McDonald's at 7:45AM. We will be allowed to drive around the northeast impoundment at STA-5 and birders can stop and get out and bird or do photography at any point along the impoundment.
