The new sheetlet of stamps (8th in the Nature Of America series) entitled "Southern Florida Wetlands" was issued today here in Naples at the Naples Zoo/Caribbean Gardens. The stamps depict native flora and fauna of the Everglades and south Florida wetlands. Snail Kite, Roseate Spoonbill, Great Egret, Cape Sable Seaside Sparrow, etc. are just some of the birds depicted on these stamps. I attended the First Day Ceremony which was well attended and then we visited the rest of the zoo, which I'm ashamed to say, was my first visit. Admission was free. I purchased several sheetlets of these stamps as well as the postal cards of the same designs. They are extremely beautiful stamps. Watch for them at a post office near you! You can see a video of part of the ceremony by going to the Naples Daily News website:

Then, once there, go down to the yellow box and click on "VIDEO: Post Office unveils stamp in Naples" You'll need Windows Media Player or Quicktime, etc. to watch the video.
