I went to Lucky Hammock and The Annex early this morning hoping to pick up some year birds. I had five! Both locales were hopping, especially Lucky Hammock.
Northern Harrier- four
Sharp-shinned Hawk
Cooper's Hawk
Red-shouldered Hawk
American Kestrel- five
Merlin
Peregrine Falcon
Sandhill Crane
Solitary Sandpiper- two flyover (on Lucky Hammock list?)
Wilson's Snipe- also over Lucky Hammock
Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Least Flycatcher- three
Alder Flycatcher- two possibly three at Annex; calling at speed bump
Eastern Kingbird
White-eyed Vireo
Red-eyed Vireo
Barn Swallow
Cliff Swallow
Carolina Wren
Gray Catbird
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Tennessee Warbler
Northern Parula
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Prairie Warbler
Palm Warbler- back in force
Black-and-white Warbler
American Redstart
Ovenbird
Northern Waterthrush
Common Yellowthroat
Yellow-breasted Chat- Lucky Hammock and Annex
Summer Tanager
Lark Sparrow- two at Lucky Hammock
Painted Bunting
Bobolink- flying over all morning
Baltimore Oriole- ten maybe

A quick stop to the Coe's Visitor Center produced a King Rail sitting in the open for five minutes and a Ruby-throated Hummingbird

I then headed up to Kendall to try my luck with the bulbuls but no success. I did see a huge flock of Aratinga type parakeets, which all looked like Mitred. Perhaps sixty or seventy birds. White-crowned Pigeon and Gray
Kingbird were also seen.
