We arrived late to the park this evening; pretty quiet save for a few Cardinals, Mockers, and Blue-gray Gnatcatchers. But we heard a Great Horned Owl call in the area where it was spotted last year; in the large tree(s) on the hammock trail that ends near the canal. When we reached that area I spotted two Great Horned Owls fly into the tops of a large oak tree behind a house directly across the canal. They continued calling and looked prepared to hunt for the night. Along came a Peregrine Falcon that was promptly chased out of the area by the owls.
