I only had a little while to bird because I had to go to work. So I went to
Sadowski to do the Fall Migration count for the park. It was an exciting
morning at Bill Sadowski. I saw shore birds there for the first time. 7
Solitary Sandpipers. I have been waiting for some shore birds to show up, but I
never thought the first would be a group of Solitary Sandpipers. Now if I have
miss identified the birds please let me know, but I am pretty confident in my
ID. The birds were fairly small and had a bobbing motion to their heads as they
walked around the puddle of water. When they flew I could see dark patch down
the middle of the tail with white on the outer part. The under wings were
totally dark with a light body. The legs were greenish and the bills varied in
their coloration, not all black.
