Hey birders! Today I went to the service road in search for the possible Kentucky Warbler. At the end end of the service road I found an adult female Blackburnian Warbler. I was able to meet up with Brian Rapoza but we ended up going in different directions. I had my bike to go throught the big puddles on the road. Other birds seen on the service road were Yellow-throated Vireo, Prairie Warbler, BTB warbler, Black and white warbler, Worm-eating Warbler(good numbers), Ovenbirds(everywhere), Louisiana Waterthrush, and heard couple waterthrushes calling. Matheson Hammock was fairly quiet with the exception of a Yellow-throated Warbler and 2 Black and white Warblers. Now I went through the trail right across the main entrance of Matheson Hammock(see map on the bottom). So I was going on the trail and between marker #3 and #4 I was able to spot a 1st winter KENTUCKY WARBLER(lifer). The bird was making its chip call. After that great sighting I had to rush home to evade the thunderstorms. Great birding!
