After waiting nearly two hours for thunderstorms to pass, I birded A D Barnes Park this afternoon. Seen were the following:
White-crowned Pigeon
Monk Parakeet
Belted Kingfisher
Eastern Wood-Pewee
Eastern Kingbird
Yellow-throated Vireo
Red-eyed Vireo
Tufted Titmouse
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Hill Myna
Northern Parula
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Blackburnian Warbler (1st winter female)
Yellow-throated Warbler
Prairie Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
American Redstart
Worm-eating Warbler
Ovenbird
Northern Waterthrush
Louisiana Waterthrush
Just before leaving, I witnessed an encounter between a Northern Waterthrush and one of the park's many feral cats. Fortunately, the waterthrush escaped. Unfortunately, the limited range of my cell phone camera prevented me from photographing the encounter.
