Wakodahatchee & Hoechoka Hammock

Wakodahatchee is water filled again but very quiet. For birders, just not worth the trip. Photographers were photographing one another, Tas'ers were watching a lone tri-color, the help was cleaning the bathrooms; speaking of which THE PORT-O-LETS are history. Bathrooms are all inside now. Nice touch. Watch for new updates on this place.

The cement crosswalk is closed because an alligator built a nest nearby and is very sensitive.

The vegetation is cleared up. Everything is awaiting the arrival of the migrants.

Hoechoka Hammock: Thanks for the kind words ladies (that visited on Saturday)and we hope you enjoyed your visit to The hammock and grounds. Again this morning some bg gnatcathcers and the screech owl was "head-out" of the nesting box watching over its domain. Best times for the screech owl are 6:30 PM and from 7:30-9:30 AM. The sun comes through the branches of the Strangler fig at 9:30 and the light seems to bother the owl.
