Pied bill grebe and young

First sighting of grebe family at hoechoka Hammock (Sawgrass and University). We have had pbgrebe before but never a family. The trio is feeding in the canal along the off-ramp west bound Sawgrass at University. A small group of mottled ducks, two adults and four young also in there presence.

Also: the screech owls are back to the nesting box but I suspect it is an overnight and not actually nesting. Nevertheless fun to watch it watching me.

Two nighthawks, fairly high with half hearted dives moving southward. With this heat I'm half hearted also.
