Yesterday afternoon, Bill Boeringer and I found a Wilson's Phalarope in a flooded field at King Ranch, on the east side of US 27. The phalarope was relatively close to the western edge of this field. Also seen were good numbers of both Pectoral and Stilt Sandpipers, plus Solitary, Spotted, Semipalmated and Least Sandpipers, Lesser and Greater Yellowlegs, Black-necked Stilt, dowitcher sp., Killdeer and Black Tern. Two Upland Sandpipers were seen on sod fields south of this flooded field. Limpkin, along with Bank, Northern Rough-winged and Barn Swallows were seen at Belle Glade Marina Campground. A single Barn Owl was seen at the cypress stand on the Miami Canal near its intersection with CR 827. There may have been more, but we didn't cross the canal for a more thorough search.

How's that, Bryant!
