There are no really good sites for the cuckoos, especially since they would not be singing at this time of year (I think). Snake Bight Trail in Everglades National Park has them year round, but mosquitoes there are probably the worst in Florida.
They may be seen or heard at Key Largo State Botanical Site in North Key Largo. John Pennekamp State Park in Key Largo has had them in the past. Some other sites for the birds have been used so often that the cuckoos seem to have been driven out. Please avoid using tapes with these birds, and ask this from everyone. I personally have never seen one, only heard.
Bachman's Sparrows can be seen at Three Lakes Preserve in Kissimmee (south of Orlando). Closer to Miami, they may be seen or heard irregularly at Johnathan Dickinson State Park in north Palm Beach County/Martin County. They are probably not singing anymore.
