A quick trip to farm areas around Lucky Hammock area this morning for Upland Sandpipers produced no shorebirds except 3 Killdeer.
However, the Annex Area had a Bronzed Cowbird, 2 Red-eyed Vireos, 8 Gnatcatchers, plus 4 woodpeckers (Downy, Red-b, Flicker, Pileated)in 20 minutes of birding. An adult Bald Eagle was sitting in the field behind Lucky Hammock itself, and a King Rail was walking along the shoulder of the main road, about 100 feet south of the turn-off for Lucky Hammock.
