The field north of the Star Pit Mine entrance is very productive for shorebirds right now. The other fields could be flooded for a couple of weeks or for several months and should attract a variety of different birds during the flooding and draw down cycle. I hope to be checking these areas and looking for others every week or two and report what I find. I hope others will do the same.
A correction: In my origional posting I referred to "axillaries" on the Tree Swallows when I should have written "underwing coverts".
