Hello fellow birders-
A much needed vacation in Colorado at least gave me a few good birds to see. Thought I would share some highlights with you all.
Must see bird- Mountain Bluebird, truly beautiful flying around at about an elevation of 10,000 feet.
Black billed magpies- if you go out west they are very common, but still very beautiful ( and very fiesty!)
Violet-green swallows-everywhere, the male has a truly brilliant green on his back
Hummers! At high elevations, also around 10,000 feet. I saw one black chinned at a feeder.
It was also very pleasant to hear the robins and house finches singing in the morning.
Certainly a nice "pick up" from the bird deprivation that I was experiencing in Miami.
No lifers here, but certainly some beautiful birds.
Cheers, Georgiana
