The last Florida Box Turtle I saw in the Everglades was in the summer of 2004 towards the end of Research Road. I found one Florida Box Turtle looking in bad shape in my Miami Shores yard, and I relocated it to Arch Creek Park in North Miami. The field biologist I went with yesterday said he has seen a couple box turtles recently, but again he is out in the field almost everyday.
