The highlights of a visit to the Belle Glade Marina area (Pranty; page 212) were a dozen White-rumped Sandpipers, two dozen Stilt Sandpipers, sixty Semipalmated Sandpipers, fifty five Fulvous Whistling-Ducks, and eight American White Pelicans. All were seen in the drying marshland along the first dirt road on the right after passing the marina entrance.

Otherwise, the farmlands and sod fields around Belle Glade were nearly dry and held little of interest besides a dozen or so Black-bellied Plovers and a lone Barn Swallow along US 27.
