I thought you might find it interesting that I observed a light phase short-tailed hawk soaring over Islamorada in the Florida Keys on Saturday May 13. All the field guides that I looked through show southern Florida and the Keys to be within the year round range of the short-tailed hawk, even though many of them do move north.
