Hoping not to receive a brusque reply, I fear I must disagree with your ID. The wings are way too broad for an osprey, and the dangling feet look mighty yellow to me, even in this B/W photo. Immature Bald Eagle.

: While scanning some of my ancient pictures I came across this one which was taken in 1958. The bird was in the pine trees that phase out by Mahogany Hammock. About where the pines give way to sawgrass prairie. It was great distance away, and I was just a poor high-school kid with a simple camera and one binocular. So, neccesity being the mother of invention I put the binoculars up to the lens of the camera and "let her rip" so to speak. Here is the result. At the time I just passed it off as a "golden eagle." Now, I am not so sure. So here is the question to this august body of experts: "How would you report this sighting?"

: There is only one picture, this is it, and this is the best scan possible.

: I await your considered judgement.
