After 2 amazing weeks birding in Florida I'm still trying to get the correct ID on a couple of warblers. The first was in Corkscrew Swamp on April 15th.It was a brief view but I got a pretty good view of it's underside. It had a Pale yellow throat which extended into the breast. It's under tail was white and it seemed to have a little faint streaking on the flanks. The other was in the grounds of our Motel on Key Largo on April 21st. It seemed to fit the same desciption as the bird at Corkscrew and I also noticed 2 white wingbars. They both seem to fit the bill for 1st Winter Female Blackpolls as per Sibley. The question I have is are 1stW Females still in this plumage at this time of year? Is this the most likely candidate or is Female Blackburnian a possibility or Female Pine a possible confusion risk? (the yellow was definately pale; isn't female Pine deeper). Any help welcome.
