I ran into Buck and Linda Cooper (what nice people!!!!!)
at the Manfredi Marsh this afternoon, and wasn't I happy to find out they weren't the Feds!
Shorebird activity remains steady at this site...one Killdeer acting like a duck nearly gave me a heart attack, Pectoral and Stilt sandpipers seem to be piling up here (although I hear it's got nothing on Zellwood in it hayday!), all the peeps are present, and all are good eating. Many birds seem concentrated to the center of the retention pond, so driving all the way around the pond via. the levee road is recommended. Don't get busted.
