Jay Bolden from Indianapolis, Indiana, e-mailed me that he spotted a Smooth-billed Ani at Ft. Lauderdale Airport on Wednesday, April 26th. Please report any future sightings. Since Hurricanes Katrina and Wilma, Ani reports have been few and far between. Life is good.................having our out-of-state brother and sister birders find most of the recent rarities in South Florida, while traveling to-and-from Dry Tortugas adventures. With La Sagra's Flycatcher, Western Spindalis, Greater Flamingo and Smooth-billed Ani being seen in recent weeks - can a Red-legged Honeycreeper be far behind?.
