The Greater Flamingo reported yesterday (4/25/06) at mile marker 9 was still present there today between 1:30 and 2:00 pm. The bird appears to be an immature. Photos will be posted later to Surfbirds.
The pond is on the north side of the highway just past the entrance to a cement plant. It is viewable through gaps in the vegetation. Do not go through the gate of the cement plant to get better views, as the gaurd gets quite irrate.
