My son and I went out tonight to check the C-8 roost. Between 7:10 and 8:10 we observed 19 Snail Kites fly into the roost. They just quietly glide in from the east. We saw males, females, and chatty juveniles who like to squawk at the adults occasionally. The roost is just 0.2 mile from the marsh trail parking lot. We walked another 0.1 mile south and sat on the bench on the east side of C-8 at about 7:00pm to watch them float in for the night.
