Today I spotted the years first two Chimney Swifts in Miami Shores. Last year I saw them in late March (29?).

The only other migrants today were a Broad-winged Hawk and a male Black-throated Blue Warbler.

Yesterday I had a cuckoo fly over the road in front of me in North Miami, but the light was so bright I could not see any rufous. It is always more likely to be a Yellow-billed, but I would like to see a field mark. Two palm Warblers were also seen. Later on that afternoon we went out to Weston to eat dinner with friends. A couple Red-shouldered Hawks, hundreds of Tree Swallows, and a possible Least Tern were seen just west of Markham Park.

And on Tuesday my family and some friends went to go eat on Miami Beach. We stopped by the actual beach itself for a dip, but winds were 20-30 mph. I saw a couple birds very far out that were very likely gannets. A group of Sanderlings flew by.
