The Crandon Flats on Key Biscayne have a few FOS shorebirds and gulls: The 6-8 Lesser Black-backed Gulls seen throughout June and July are still here. The lone Herring Gull that remained during the summer has been joined by 2 more immatures. Still many Least Terns with young and the Royals have juveniles also. Sanderlings are increasing in number, some still in breeding plumage. In addition to a few Semipalmated Plovers and Ruddy Turnstones, there are 2 Piping Plovers. A Reddish Egret was on the north flat and several more were near Bear Cut yesterday.

Manfredi Marsh (see Larry's post from 7/24) yielded most of the same birds as yesterday, with the addition of 2 Solitary Sandpipers and distant (probable) Least Sandpipers.
