Toe and I were hoping of a little better day of birding after the front blew
through. We hit Sadowski, Black Point and Cutler Wetland. Before we even really
got started we spotted  Smooth-billed Ani on power lines at the corner of
178th Terr. and 82nd Ave. Nice way to start the morning, a life bird for me. I
drove all the way up to the sod farm area looking last year and heard them but
didn't see them. Overall this morning was very enjoyable, but migrants were the
highlight of the day. We also saw a possible White Rump Sandpiper at Cutler
Wetland.

Some Photos from last night at Sadowski and this morning at Sadowski, Black

3 or 4 Probable White Rump Sandpipers. Observation showed the wing tips
extending past the tail and a drooping bills. These bird were also a good bit
larger than the Western Sandpipers in the area. I saw white on the rumps while
they were in flight from their former location. We would have stayed and
observed longer, but weather was threatening and work was calling. Toe had seen
these birds on Sunday afternoon and that is what provoked our searching for them
today.

Top Center, Possible White Rumps.

???

??? Snake about 4 feet long as Sadowski

I was having a really hard time getting Warbler Photos. This was a beautiful
Black Throated Green

Catbird and Worm-eating Warbler

Smooth-billed Ani

????

Libations are in order for a life bird in an unexpected place and probable
White-rump Sandpipers to be further investigated. Suggestions welcome...
