Whoops! I have a peculiar habit of reading publications from the back to front, so I had not had the opportunity to read John's excellent article. I can echo his findings after birding Aeroeojet Road and Everglades National Park the past two weeks. Look for fruiting Strangler and Short-leaf Figs and you will find lots of birds-otherwise passerines were rather scarce. Life is good...........even for the peculiar!
