Common nighthawks heard over North Coral Springs and south Parkland this early morning. Also, and surprise, one antillean nighthawk was heard. Pre-dawn so no visual on either but the common nighthawk is very familiar to me and there is no doubt. The call of the antillean was cross-checked against Thayers guide to Birds of North America ver 3.1.2, sound recordings.
These are the first nighthawks presence I have experienced this Spring. Sure hate to see winter leave....it was a good one.
