Three birds that have calls that match closley Thayers reproduction of short-tailed hawk. Color on one is very dark the second is standard with white undercarriage and the third keeps following the other two. Action are fledgling like and it keeps going to the perch of one or the other birds that I take for mature. They are feeding in the area between Grand Cypress Estate on the north, Parkland City hall on the nw, University Drive on the east and about 500 yards east of the church at University and Sawgrass. The new subdivision still has open huting space and the church has very open fields. North of PArkland city hall is ex-farmland from the Beatty Farms (cornfileds much like around Lucky Hammock) Another person had a sighting last evening near dusk of a single. This is the first triple and explains why the coloration was so difficult---the bird was the same one!
