Earlier this evening, I took a walk just up the street to look for Tokay Geckos (the world's largest gecko species). A neighbor told me she had one around her front porch light. Before I arrived at her house, I spotted a medium-sized Tokay on a different house. As soon as I got to the porch, I spotted the gecko that was easily just over a foot long! I could hear the "geck-oo" calls all around me from other house. I had never seen a wild Tokay, and then I find out there is a breeding colony one avenue away from me.

As I was walking back, a screech-owl flew right into one of the oak trees in the back yard.

I heard one or two unidentified nocturnal flight calls as well.
