Michael: According to resident expert and guide Larry Manfredi, Cave Swallows are under many road bridges in the Miami area, as long as the bridge crosses fresh water and there is adequate dirt around for nest building. The old standby place is where S.W. 216th St. goes under the Florida Turnpike. Look at the bridge on 216th where it crosses the canal that runs parallel to the Turnpike on the east side. I recently heard that they are under the bridge over Snapper Creek at Kendall Drive and S.W. 99th Ave., next to a baseball diamond. These swallows are of the Mexican race. If you want a guide, email Larry at birderlm@bellsouth.net - J.W.

: I will be in Miami from Saturday April 1st until until the 5th. I would like to search for Cave Swallows. I would appreciate information on any recent sightings. Thanks.
