I'm glad you bring up this perennial problem. I recently documented 2 Red-bellied Woodpecker nests taken over by Starlings in the lower parking lot of Fairchild. The birds are diabolical and can fit into a space you would think too small for a warbler! Seems like the only solution involves guns, but then you have to deal with dead and dying Starlings. We need a new breed of less wimpy woodpeckers.
