Congrats on a great trip. I have a feeling that Red-billed Tropicbirds are more common off our coast than we realized, and usually not too far from shore. The ones we've seen have been in the 400-700 ft depth range, which is just outside the reef. I've spoken to charter captains that are out there almost daily and they encounter them regularly. One captain had two circling his boat once!
